Reaction to The Vampire Diaries Episode: The Originals

I know, I know, The Vampire Diaries was on last Thursday, but I just really need to talk about it!
Here is the rehash in case you need a refresher!
*Warning: Spoilers from here on out!*

My goal is to one day end up on rehash! I know that is kind of  a silly goal but, hey, what's a fangirl to do?

Here are my tweets from last Thursday as I was watching TVD:

haha oh Elijah and his brotherly "love".
Klaus looking uncomfortable with violence and all around scumbaggery? Hmm... interesting.

I think Caroline has gotten inside Klaus' head!

Thats right Klaus, show them who's boss!

Woah, Elijah, way to be a really awesome yet creepy knight in shining armor.

I feel like Marcel is the ungrateful, selfish power hungry child in the Klarcel relationship.
OH nu-uh! THIS IS NOT HAPPENING!

Welp.... looks like thats the end of all hopes for Klaroline. :/

Uhoh... there is gonna be a show down.

Oh Heck to the no, you did not just talk to Klaus like that.

THERE'S STILL HOPE FOR KLAROLINE! That call. my heart can't handle this!!!

So... Klaus a baby daddy? How do you feel about this?! I was so not expecting that! And, as you can tell I am a huge Klaroline fan! So, you can probably guess which brother I want to end up with Elena! (Delena all the way!). I thought this episode was great though and very nicely done! I am worried about when/how/if Rebbekah (Claire Holt) will be on the new series "The Originals" after how she acted in this episode? Hmm...

How to Make Your Prom Look Last

Hello ladies!
Today's post will be short and sweet and to the point because I have a ton to do and I'm already behind!
Alright, I tried to make a "talking" video, but my computer wasn't having that and I didn't think my camera had enough space... So, the video ended up being a lot shorter than expected but, that's okay, is full of good information!

How to Make Your Prom Look Last All Night!

Hope you enjoy!

Victoria's Secret Pink Tinted Self Tan Body Mist Review

Hey there!
Its Thursday, you know what that means? THE VAMPIRE DIARIES! Yea-ah! But, do you know what else that means? Tried It Thursday!

So, since I'm getting married soon, I decided that this pale girl needed some color! But, tanning beds scare me so, I thought I'd try out Victoria's Secret'Pink Spring Break Tinted Self Tan Body Mist in Jasmine Lime .

First off, I'd like to say that it does not make my skin orange, which is awesome!
It also smells really good and that smell lasts ALL day.
It also makes your skin "glow" with the little sparkles it has in it. (Don't worry, they're not obnoxious.)
It provides immediate color pay off then builds during that day and a little the day after. I'd say about a 24 hour period.
So, what don't I like about it?
Well, I have to rub in the spray anyway because it doesn't really spray evenly... which I wasn't expecting.
This is kind of good and bad thing, but after it builds it fades within like 3 days if you don't re-apply. This is good if you accidentally get it uneven but... if you want it to last say, a week, its not going to cut it.
It will make your hands an orangey/brown color... just making them look dirty if you don't wear gloves/keep washing your hands.

All in all though, I think the "cons" are worth it, and I would highly recommend this product! You can get it at any Victoria's Secret for around $15. Though, I can't find it on their website, so you may have to go with their New Instant Bronzing Tinted Body Spray.

Some tips with this:
Exfoliate and shave before use.
Be careful around knees, elbows and ankles.
You may need someone to help you getting your back.
Start bottom up.
Wash your hands in between different parts. Like between applying to legs and applying to stomach.

Alright gurus, thats all I have!

Kailey

From Club to Work Appropriate

Hello Beauties!
Are you glad its Wear It Wednesday?! I am! That means its only two more days till the weekend! Woohooo!

So... if you're anything like me you have some dresses in your closet that are more appropriate for a club than a professional environment. But,they are so cute that you don't want to keep them just for the club! Or, like in my case, you want to get wear out of them because you don't ever go to the clubs (or sorority parties).
See the dilemma?
In particular, I have this dress that is SUPER cute short sleeve black and white striped peplum on top and a short body con skirt on the bottom. How do I fix this so its appropriate for say class or a business function? Easy! Add my black maxi skirt over the dress and top it off with a bright belt!
Check out the picture below!

Okay, I know they're not the the best pictures, but I'll be getting better, I promise!

So, what do you do if you have a tank or tube top dress? Thats easy too! Just take a cardigan over it, and depending on how it looks, you can add a belt! (I love belts to cinch my waist!)
My other favorite thing to do? Wear your dress as a shirt... just tuck it into your jeans!
I love taking my dresses that are maybe a little to short and making them work/church/school appropriate!
By doing this, I am able to make so many more outfits from my wardrobe!
It's also super easy, which is always a plus! Just play around with the pieces and I'm sure you'll come up with some amazing combinations!

Top 10 Glee Songs (With Videos)

Hello all! In honor of last weeks TV Tuesday, and  the announcement that Glee has been picked up for two more seasons (5 and 6), this week I'll be doing My 10 Top Glee Songs.

There will be quite a few of these so, lets get started. I've added YouTube video for your listening pleasure. :)

Girl on Fire- Performed by Santana
Sorry, Alicia Key fans, she's got nothing on Miss Naya Rivera

Whistle- Performed by The Warblers
When I first heard the original song, I was like "ohmygosh, terrible lyrics! I don't want to listen to this!" then, this happened and I couldn't stop listening to this version despite the dirty lyrics! Its good to know the Warblers are great even without Blaine!

Anything Goes/Anything You Can Do- Performed by Harmony

Man can that girl sing! For any of you that don't know its Lindsay Pearce from The Glee Project Season 1

Teenage Dream- Performed by The Warblers
Thanks to this song, Darren Criss stint on the show lasted beyond being Kurt's first boyfriend. (My speculation but, do you remember how fast this version climbed the charts?)

Creep- Performed by Rachel and Brody

I'm in the minority here, but I love the new Rachel. I thought this song was done extremely well.

Dream On- Perfomed by Mr. Shuester  and Bryan Ryan (Neil Patrick Harris)
Its going to be legen... wait for it... dary! Who doesn't love Neil Patrick Harris?!

Next to Me- Performed by Rachel and Shelby (Idina Menzel)
So, quick story. When I watched the pilot and saw Rachel auditioning for Glee club, I said to my friends "Hmm, she reminds me of Idina Menzel" and I wondered how long it would take for them to get her on the show. Well, obviously I was right because *SPOILER* Idina Menzel plays her mom! But anyway, this is amazing and I love these two Broadway stars!

Total Eclipse of the Heart Performed by Rachel, Finn, Puck and Jesse
I listened to this non-stop after it aired. I love that I can pick out all of the guys singing.

Thriller/Heads Will Roll- Performed by New Directions and the Football Team (Kind of)

This is just an amazing mash up! Glee always does well with mash ups :).

and last one...
Rolling in the Deep- Performed by Rachel and Jesse
I just love Lea Michelle (Rachel) and Jonathan Groff (Jesse) singing together. They have such amazing chemistry, no doubt because they stared on Broadway in Spring Awakening together.

So, what did you think? Are these you would have picked for your top ten? Sound off in the comments below!

My Hair Routine!

Hello Beauties!
In honor of mark putting a re-emphasis on our hair care line, I thought I would do a hair routine video! I know technically its Makeup Monday. But, hair goes with beauty so, you all will let me get away with it right? ;)
A couple notes before you watch the video!
1. I don't like using a lot of product in my hair because I have oily hair and it makes me feel icky.
2. I video taped this at 7:15am after working out at 6:30am so, if I look unhappy in this video its just because I'm tired!!

*EDIT: I no longer sell mark/Avon products. If you want any of mark's haircare items please talk to your local Avon Representative*
I hope you all enjoyed!
Have a wonderful day!

Notes to Those I Hold Dear

So, since its my birthday, I decided in lieu of Fit Friday I would write a note to the people I hold most dear. I can't possibly mention everyone specifically so, I'm limiting it to 3 groups. My love, my family and my friends.

Dear John,
I love you so very much, and I am super excited to be married to you in a little over 6 weeks! We are going to be even better together as we get older. To me, birthdays are kind of like thanksgiving where I reflect on the past year and think about what I am thankful for.Darling, I am so thankful to have you in my life, and incredibly thankful that I finally said yes to dating you! I don't know what I would have done without you or who I would have become. I just know, that I am much better off for having you in my life, by my side.
Love forever and always,
Kailey

Dear Family,
I love you all bunches! I would like to thank my extended family for being so caring, crazy and fun. I really miss all of you! For my immediate family, especially my mom and dad, thank you for raising me to be who I am. Thank you for raising me to be strong, independent, creative and responsible. Thank you for giving me the chances to try out different things. And most of all thank you for letting me dream.
Love always,
Kailey

Dear Friends,
I know I may not always be around or call as often as I would like or even see each you as often as I'd like but, I really do appreciate you. Those who've made road trips so much fun, those who have put up with my awesome dancing skills, those who listen to me rant, those who listen to me go on and on about my wedding, those who bring out my sense of adventure, those who play games with me (especially Apples to Apples), those who offer a shoulder to cry on, those who offer a place to stay, and any of those who have made me laugh or smile... from the bottom of my heart thank you. You mean more to me than you will ever know.
Love always,
Kailey

Pros and Cons of Scheduling Your Day

Hello there!
Why is it that on Time Management Thursday is always the day when I have the worst time management of the week? Oh well.
As some of you may remember, I was trying out different time management techniques. So for the past couple of days I've been scheduling out my day.

So, without further ado, the Pro's and Con's of Scheduling your day!

Pros:
  • Keeps you on track
  • Makes you really think about how much time something should take
  • Minimizes long social media breaks
  • Helps you to know if your to do list is reasonable
Cons:
  • Can cause more stress if you get off schedule
  • Can make you no work as hard on a certain project just so you can get it done on time.
  • Can get discouraged and just say "forget it" when you get off schedule.
As you can see, for me, there are more pros than cons so, I am going to continue using this system and try to figure out the best thing for me to do. Also, I think most of these cons can be fixed.

Stay Beautiful,
Kailey

Emma Watson MTV Movie Award Inspired Look

Hey Beauties!
Time for another fabulous round at Wear It Wednesday!
Have you ever seen the show Look For Less? It was on the Style network and basically, it was a show where they would have a certain amount of money to spend (Like $100) and get a designer inspired look.
Well, I was inspired by that and this amazing dress Emma Watson wore at the MTV Movie Awards! So, naturally I combined the two and Wah-lah!
The look is definitely inspired, and not a duplicate. But, this is more wearable on an everyday occasion! I wanted to keep with the colors and the ombre/watercolor feel of the outfit and wanted to keep the drama around the neckline. Let me know what you think!
I'm still working on my polyvore skills though, so if you have any suggestions on how to make my boards better, let me know! :)

Top 5 Songs Glee Ruined

Hello Ladies and Gents!
In honor of TV Tuesday, I decided to do a post on Glee and the songs they ruined!
Now, don't get me wrong, I LOVE Glee and most of the time I think they do a good and/or better job. However there are just some songs that make me want to cringe when they come on while I'm playing my Glee radio on Spotify

I've included the Spotify link and YouTube link for your convenience. Without further ado...

My Top 5 Songs Glee Ruined:

This is my number one song that Glee ruined. Maybe its because I am a huge My Chemical Romance fan but, this version just makes me want to throw something... and not in a good way. I was really excited when I heard they were doing a MCR song so, this makes me especially sad. But, really, what should I have expected? This version just has the Glee kids singing loud but they don't seem to have any convictions about WHAT they are singing.

I'm sorry, there are only about 2 people in the world that can do Christina justice and these ladies just aren't cutting it. Which is really sad because I love these girls! This is just not up to par.

So, I don't have any personal connection with this song but... I just really don't like Alex and his character Wade/Unique. He and his voice annoy me. I watched The Glee Project and I definitively was not rooting for him. Plus, it makes me mad that he got in the show full time and Lindsey Pearce didn't.

See the theme here? Another Wade/Unique song... ugh. Marley does pretty good though. Although again, they seem to have no concept of what they are singing.

So, I never really did get on the whole Gangnam Style bandwagon... but this version especially annoys me. Though, I do commend Jenna for learning all of those words!

Next week, I think I will do My Top ___ Songs Glee Does Better!
Of course, these are just MY opinions. Feel free to sound off in the comments, just be respectful please!

Stay Beautiful,
Kailey

Tried It: Resetting Ink Cartridge

Hello Ladies and Gents!
Welcome to Tried It Thursday!

Today I decided to try to reset my ink cartridge by using this graphic from pinterest as a guide:
Well, maybe its because I have an hp printer and not EPSON like the picture shows, but this definitely did not work. I don't even think my ink cartridge HAS a reset button! Feel free to try it at home, but if you were hoping that this was going to be your incredible way to save money on ink, don't count on it. I would suggest getting coupons.
What would you like to see me try next?

The Carrie Diaries Season 1 Finale: Kiss Yesterday Goodbye Reaction

Are you ready for TV Tuesday? I'm going to be documenting my thoughts of last nights Carrie Diaries!

- Ah, teenage breakups. Fun, fun.
- "Are your parents racist?" "DUH!" LOL.
- Oh, stereotypical Asian archetype
-UM, he's (Maggie's "fling") ENGAGED? What just happened?
-Let it all out, eh? :P
-Oh, if only life was a tv show and guys showed up when you were missing them and it didn't seem stalker-ish...at all.
-Dorrit should NOT be doing such things and with a senior?!
-Awww, she said the L word!
-Good boy! Waiting!
-Maggie's definition of prom is SO TRUE. (Kind of).
-Oh, Maggie, letting it kind of spill!
-AND, fighting so soon after they got back together.
- Sigh. She breaks up with him so fast...
- And now Sebastian spills the beans.
- Mags going craycray
-Oh, he waited like, two days. Way to keep it in your pants, kid.
-Dorret's CRYING over that? They didn't even do anything! He just had roses and candles...
- Little Chinese boy? AWKWARD!
-Ah, the lies are parents tell.
-Ah, so NOW it happens.
-I love Larrissas makeup!
-Oh, I see this ending badly :/ Maggie and Sebastian drinking together as Carrie comes look for him? Uhoh...
-Mouse's dress looks like a shower curtain...
-hahaha jailbait!
-Woah, Carrie has a backbone!
-Wonder if she's going to break up with Sebastian again? I need to get a tally for these two!
-People fall in love so fast on this show! Sheesh.
-Aww yay, summer in NY. How it should be.

All I know is that there better be a season 2! Which isn't official yet.

Stay Beautiful,
Kailey

Healthy Cookies!

Hello again!
For Fit Friday, I wanted to share with you one of my favorite healthy snacks!
I can't take any credit for this recipe because I got it from the amazing "Raw Sistahs". Their focus? Living a well balanced, raw life! They have great videos on healthy food, diy projects and workouts! They even collaborate with the RawBrahs sometimes!
Here's the original video:

So, if you're computer is too slow for you to watch that, or you want it for future reference, here is the recipe:

Ingredients:
1 cup of oats
1 handful of raisins (optional)
1 (or 1.5) banana
1 tbs of cinnamon
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl, using your hands!
  3. Coat your aluminum foil covered cookie sheet with non-stick substance (whatever you prefer)
  4. Shape mixture into cookie size pieces and put on cookie sheet
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes
Okay, my notes for this!
- I use the microwave since I am in the dorms and that is more convenient! I put about 6 and nuke them for about 1 minute. Although, now I might try a bit longer to see how that tastes!
- The first time I tried this, I had yogurt raisins instead of plain raisins so, I used those. Oh my gosh, it was SO GOOD. It tasted like melted chocolate but it was healthy! Yum! That takes away the vegan aspect though so, regular raisins work just as well :)

Join me tomorrow when I reveal MY picks for the MTV Movie Awards!
Stay beautiful,
Kailey

How to Apply for Jobs on a Busy Schedule

Hey there!
It's time for Time Management Thursday! Today I'm going to share with you my tips for applying for jobs while being on a busy schedule! Like... when you are going to school, working, and planning a wedding!

  • Just Search- For one day, for about 30 minutes, just search for jobs and write them down. I prefer creating an excel spreadsheet when I do this.
  • Apply on Breaks- While I don't advise applying for other jobs while you are actually at work, when doing school work and taking a "study-break" why not apply for a job instead of getting on facebook or pinterest? Its also a good idea to apply while you are on breaks from school.
  • Utilize the Save Features- Most online applications have "finish later" features so you can stop and pick up where you left off.
  • Perfect/Post Your Resume- Perfect your resume and then post it  on reputable sites like monster.com. They also have some really great tips on resume's and cover letters! But, by posting your amazing resume, companies will come to YOU! What is more convenient than that?

That's all for today darlings.

Kailey

The Carrie Diaries "There's a First Time for Everything" Reaction

Good afternoon lovelies!
I hope you are ready for another TV Tuesday post!
As Carrie Diaries season finale is next Monday, I'm going to have something else to review or talk about. What would you like to see in these future TV Tuesday posts?

So, from the preview, it looks like the episode is going to go a certain way... and *SPOILER ALERT* it goes the opposite! I found this very frustrating but, at the same time I should have seen it coming. I guess I expect it from shows like The Vampire Diaries but, I don't expect it so much from a chick-flick-esque show. This show centered around Madonna's "Like A Virgin" tour but, we never actually see Madonna (which of course I didn't really expect). It did provide a nice juxtaposition to the events that were happening/were supposed to happen in this episode.  I did like the character development in this episode though with Mouse, Dorrett and Carrie. We didn't see any of Walt or Maggie which is sad because I like them!

I'm really excited for next weeks episode, and season finale though! Here's the preview!

Will you be watching?

Do you like this style of reaction better? Or did you like my "tweet" style better?

Stay Beautiful,
Kailey
