Blog Under Construction

Hey Beauties,
A few of you may have already noticed but I wanted to address some of the changes that are happening around here. After all, a blog is just a diary without any readers so, I need to keep ya'll informed!

I was thinking about giving up on blogging all together because of my spottiness with this blog but then I had a better idea. First, I decided to start blogging more regularly... everyday in fact, except for Sunday. Well, how was I supposed to do that? I've said it before and 30 Day Blog Challenges certainly don't get me into the habit (and honestly, don't make for very good blogging for me... some people do them well but I am not one of them!). So, I decided to come up with a certain topic to post about each day of the week. I am keeping them vauge enough so that I can do multiple types of posts. These are subject to change, but here's where I am at right now. (most of which you've already seen)
Makeup Monday- Where I will post tutorials, inspiration, current favorites, foundation routine... stuff like that.
TV Tuesday- Where I review my favorite tv shows (although I don't know what to do since the Pretty Little Liars finale!) or do a fashion or make up post inspired by one of my favorite tv shows... you get the gist.
Wear It Wednesday- Fashion! Will mostly be outfit's of the day but may also be me dreaming with polyvore.
Time Management/Tried It Thursday- So, Thursday's were going to be Tried It Thursday where I tried out things on pinterest or DIY's I came up with myself or something but then I realized I am a poor college student. I don't have the funds or means to do stuff like that once a week so, I may do Tried It Thursday posts sparingly until I am married and am living in my condo. In the meantime, they will be mostly Time Management tips because that's something I really need to work on and I figured I can share what I've found and what works for me!
Fit Friday- I need to look fabulous within 72 days... Join me on that journey. Food and excersice tips!
Scene It Saturday- This one will be fun with its ambiguity! Scene It Saturday mostly means movies I've seen but it can also apply to tv shows and celebrity fashion/beauty.

So, now that you know what to expect from the week... I want to let you in on what the heck happened to 100+ posts on here. Well, I want this blog to be something that I'm proud of... something I can put on a resume or show off to people and be proud of my work. My three halfhearted attempts at 30 Day Blog Challenge's, tags, and short rambles of nothingness just weren't cutting it. The posts I have kept I will either leave them as they are or edit them to give them a little bit more spice.

If you'd like to see what I was up to on my brief hiatus, check out campuschatter.hubpages.com . I'm not sure if I'll continue posting there but, I have some good articles and I learned a lot about what to do and not to do in blogging.

I hope to see you around more often

Wear It Wednesday! How to Wear a Swirl Scarf

Hello Beauties!
Welcome to Wear It Wednesday! Despite it being the first day of spring, it is still very cold outside! 24 degrees! Maybe I'm a sissy for think that is FREEZING but, I like my weather to be in the 80s! This whole groundhog was lying when he said spring would come early business is just not for me!
That being said, since it was so cold outside, I decided a scarf would be a nice touch. It's a swirl (or swirl and ruffle, whichever you prefer) scarf that was given to me by my loving mother. Someone else made it so, I didn't pay for it. Major stores don't really have these (yet) so, I would suggest to make your own or buy one on etsy.  I know that my mom was a little unsure of how to wear them because these aren't your average scarves. However, I found a way that works well for me thats simple, easy and doesn't make me look like I have 18th century type frills around my neck!
First of all, I suggest pairing the scarf with a solid or mostly solid shirt in a complimenting color. Here, I chose a grey thermal with a pink undershirt to bring out the pink in the sweater. I suppose you could wear the same color as your scarf but, you want the scarf to stand out. And I just really hate that, personally.

Alright, now to HOW to wear the scarf? I chose to wear mine like this.. How did I do this exactly? Easy, peasy. I just folded the scarf in half, wraped around my neck and put the "loose" ends through the hole. Make sense? Here's a picture in case if it doesn't! (and its pin-able, so you wont forget!)

Lastly, I paired it with boot cut blue jeans. Personally, I don't think the pants matter that much in this case. I can't wait until the warm weather hits so I can start really playing with my skirts and dresses again! (Having to wear tights all the time is so limiting. Unless you have an outrageous collection, that is)

Some other ways you can wear this scarf:
More detailed description below

Simply wrap around neck, tie then add a brooch or hair piece. I'm using mark's Good Hair Day Clip

Same as above, but no clip. Doesn't it look lonely?

For this one, make one side longer than the other when you place on your neck, then wrap the longer side around.

Unleash your inner drama queen and tie to the side, flipping one side of the scarf over your shoulder. I'll admit this is cute, but it's hard to get to stay like that! Anybody have tips on that?

And last... just simply let it hang on your neck. I'd only use this one if you really need to make yourself look super skinny or want to frame something on your shirt.

Alright beauties! I hope you enjoyed and are inspired to wear, buy or make a swirl scarf yourself!
Stay Beautiful,
Kailey

TV Tuesday:Pretty Little Liars Finale

I do not own the rights to this photo!

Today marks the end of Pretty Little Liars... until the premiere of season for June 11th that is.

The following is my reactions to the episode, be warned, it contains spoilers!!!

  • Spencer's out of Radley! Yay!
  • But she's acting a little more meh than usual, boo!
  • I love Hannah, she's hilarious! "Whats the difference between a crumpet and an English muffin?" lol
  • Well, Spencer's acting creepy... Oh yeah! She's a part of the A team, yikes!
  • Aww, poor Ezra! Aria is totally icing him out!
  • JENNA IS BACK! OMG, what?!?! "The police have evidence?" What is that about? And what is that text about?! Who sent it?
  • Hannah + Ezra scene is priceless! (No shennanigans, other than her lying about babysitting Malcom)
  • Jenna and Shana? What? Are they together or just friends? And whats going on Friday? Are they a part of the A team too?
  • Ezria  is breaking my heart! I totally get Aria's reasoning but, BOO
  • TOBY'S ALIVE!!! I knew it, I knew it I knew it! *fist pump*
  • Hmm.. is he just telling Spencer what she wants to hear?/ The writers telling the VIEWERS what they want to hear? I'm so conflicted!!
  • Welp, Mona didn't kidnap the kid!
  • So, whats the deal with Jenna and Shana and Melissa?!?! Is the A team bigger than we thought or are they forming their own alliance?
  • I love the way the Liars figured out Spencer was a part of the A team and confronted her! "Spencer's on the A Team, game over."
  • It's so weird they take orders from someone they don't know who it is!
  • Mona gets trapped! hahahahahaha sucka!
  • Uhoh... fire! I don't get why she set the fire just to drag them all out?
  • She framed Toby! Ugh...
  • Who is Red Coat? The Liars think Ali... and I do too!
  • Mona a victim? This will be fun..
  • WHAT the heck is in that trunk?! I hate we have to wait until June to find out!
What did you guys think of the finale? Did  you have the same reactions I did?

Come back tomorrow for Wear it Wednesday!

Make Up Monday: Luck of the Irish

Hello Beauties,

As you know, this weekend was St. Patrick's Day. In honor of that, I did a Luck of the Irish St. Patty's day look. Now, I know St. Patrick's Day is over, but I think this look is really wearable. I noticed it really opened up my eyes so I would suggest this for people with hazel, brown and green eyes. But, of course, any eye color will do! :)

I know the screenshot doesn't look appealing but, I promise the rest of the video is fine! Follow me on YouTube! I'm continuing to get better! Practice makes perfect, right? I would love it if you would share with me what you wore for your St. Patty's day celebrations!

Stay Beautiful,
Kailey

P.s. Comeback tomorrow for TV Tuesday!

Scene It Saturday: Oz the Great and Powerful

Last night my hot date took me to go see Oz The Great and Powerful and, since this is Scene It Saturday  I thought I would do a little mini review on it.

First of, I'd like to point out that this is the story of Oz and it has nothing to do with Dorthy. It's basically a prequel to the Wizard of Oz that we know and love. I was hoping for a little bit more deviation in terms of characterization but their wasn't much. The beginning of the movie and trip in to Oz is very reminiscent of the classic film, and it does give it a nice nostalgic touch. Once we get to Oz the visuals are stunning. You can even tell from the poster that the graphics are over the top and larger than life. Very aesthetically pleasing, both with the visuals and the music which was done by Danny Elfman. Elfman did a great job at highlighting the story but not overpowering it. The costumes were magnificent as well.
The acting and characterization, however, left a lot to be desired. The acting was good, not great. I felt like I got better acting out of the digitally animated characters than the on screen actors. With the exception of Mila Kunis. Yes, there was a lot of characterization that I think was missed in the screenwriting but her acting was amazing *spoiler* if it truly is her after the "transformation". I think it is... I can't find another name on IMDB.
Overall, I think what the movie lacked in story line/story telling, characterization and acting it made up for in stunning visual effects, musical score and animated characters/voice actors. It's a great feel good family friendly movie. If you have kids and/or want a light comedy with some moral goodness attached to it, I'd say go for it.
Final Verdict: 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Fit Friday: My Workout Plan

So, since I'm getting married in 2 months, 15 days, 15 hours and 15 minutes, I have precious little time to look good naked. I want to look HOT for my honeymoon, not just good, but drop dead, could be mistaken for a Victoria's Secret   swimsuit model. So, since I've been kind of eh about my diet and exercise these past couple of months, its time to get my booty in gear and get moving! I'm focusing mainly on my core. I want to get toned and improve flexibility.
Here's my current plan:
Monday: Zumba
Tuesday: Yoga
Wednesday: Swing Dancing or Pilates
Thursday: Pilates
Friday: Pilates or P90x with my fiance (Trying to get out of this, lol)
Saturday and Sunday: Rest
This is just what works with my schedule and I think its a pretty good regime. I know that all I did last semester was Swing dance for a couple hours twice a week and that helped my legs, butt and core stay tight so, I'm sure doing Zumba, Swing dancing plus yoga and Pilates will work well for what I need. I may also try to get a little more cardio in if I'm not seeing results. It doesn't seem like much but Yoga and Pilates get pretty intense. I'm doing intermediate level work outs to challenge myself. I'd like to let you guys know that for yoga I'm using this fabulous website called doyogawithme.com . There is a great selection of yoga videos in every time length, purpose and level of difficulty. I'm not getting paid to promote them, I just found them on pinterest and am wildly impressed.

Every Friday I will have a post about getting fit! Could be anything, like... an update, tips on what has helped me, healthy recipes, etc.

Come Back tomorrow for Scene It Saturday!

Stay Beautiful,
Kailey

Top 10 Contemporary Songs for Valentines Day

Need something to listen to while you're getting ready for your date? Or need something to listen to to set the mood tomorrow? Or just want to listen to a bunch of really awesome songs? Here is a list of my Top 10 Contemporary Songs for Valentine's Day! (Tomorrow!) I'm trying my best to stay away from super obvious ones but some are just too darn good (hence #2)!

10. Valentine's Day: Kina Grannis - Just to put you in the Valentine's Day spirit! Sure to warm your sweeties heart (and yours!)

9. The Best Thing- Relient K - This is a cute song, and a cute video. I would say someone in any relationship could find something to relate to in this song!

8. Oh, Love!- William Beckett - I don't know if you all know this about me, but I love William Beckett (as an artist of course) and I've been to 2 of his concerts. This song is sort of pessimistic but, still lovely! It's all about what he would do for her because he loves her! (and it's upbeat, yay!)

7. As Long As You're Mine- Wicked - This one goes out to my fellow musical lovers! I just love the passion in this song! YOLO at it's finest ;) (*Bonus Song*: Gimme Gimme from Thoroughly Modern Mille) This may be cheating because this is the LEAST recent (I think) but, its worth it!

6. Only You- Joshua Radin- Nice chill and relaxing, but still cute!

5. Fishes- Storm Circus - I know I've put this video on here before, but this song goes out to all the single guys and gals out there on Valentine's Day! Don't loose hope, they're out there waiting for you!

4. You Always Make Me Smile- Kyle Andrews - This is guaranteed to make you smile, the video will too but it really has nothing to do with the song!

3. Good Morning Beautiful (Featuring Jim Brickman)- Luck McMaster - This song is just so so CUTE! And nothing like the country song by the same name. Listen and see if you're not bobbing your head along by the end!

2. I Won't Give Up- Jason Mraz - I can't express how well this relates to my relationship. I'm sure it relates to a lot of other peoples too! Love!

1. Fade Into You- Nashville Cast (Clare Bowen and Sam Palladio) - I have been playing this non-stop since I first heard it! So amazingly good, even if you don't like country music, just give it a listen and see what you think!

Give them a listen and let me know what you think! :) I hope you have a great Valentine's Day with or without a significant other!

xx
