DIY: Folder Holder

Folder Holder! (Can also be used as magazine holder, paper holder, newspaper holder or notebook holder)

What You'll Need:
Cereal Box
Glue
Scissors
Old magazines and/or Scrapbook paper
Marker

Step One:
Make a diagonal mark on both sides (front and back) of the cereal box and a horizontal line across the front to make sure they match

Step Two: Cut along the lines you marked. It should look like this when its done:

Step Three: Tear out magazine words and pictures that inspire you or go with a theme. (Tip: Use a brightly colored page as a "background" for all the other pics and words to go on ) Or, use scrapbook paper to create a fun and unique design.

Step Four: Collage it! Mine ended up looking like this! (Sorry for the super bad pic quality, it was night and when I used flash it just made everything white :P )

There you go! You now have a fun, easy and cheap one of a kind holder! Enjoy!
p.s. I'm using mine for class folders and notebooks (Separate holder for each)

DIY: Leave In Conditioner

This may be one of the easiest yet best DIY projects ever! It works just like an expensive leave in conditioner and its sooooo much cheaper!

What You'll Need:
-  Small Spray Bottle
- Whatever conditioner you happen to be using
- Water

What You Do:

All you do is put 1 part conditioner for every 3 parts of water. So say you put one cup of conditioner then you would put three cups of water (just for explanation purposes I definitely did not use that much, I have a tiny bottle :P) .

After you have the water and the conditioner in the bottle, put the lid on and shake it up! :)

How to Use:

I use this everyday. You can apply it to wet or dry hair, but try not to apply it right before you straighten because it will make your hair damp. All you do is spritz some onto your locks and brush through.

Pros:
This is a whole lot cheaper than going out and buying an expensive leave in conditioner and it works just as well, if not better.

What do you think?

Let me know if you try this out!

Comment Issues

Hey there fellow Bloggers!
I recently found out why I can't comment on other people's post.. . because of their settings! And I had the same setting so nobody could comment on mine either. This is a quote from the "answer" of another girl with the same problem.

Hi gang, I worked through this with a friend on whose blog I couldn't comment (we both use Blogger/Google and I was signed in.) Got tired of coming across it on certain blogs, and asked her to change some settings and let me re-try. She said she'd had other friends complain that they couldn't comment, either, but she didn't know what was wrong.

So, in one's blog SETTINGS, under the COMMENTS tab, where you have three choices for how your comments will appear (Full Page, Pop-Up Window, or Embedded Below Post),  it is the third choice - Embedded Below Post - which for some reason disables the little pull-down menu where we are asked to "Choose A Profile" and which prevents us from commenting.

Somewhere therein lies the programming error.

In the meantime, every time I come across a blog where I can't comment, I'm going to ask them to change this setting to one of the other two.

I hope someone from Google/Blogger is reading this: there is the problem! Though, not being a programmer, I have NO CLUE what it is. Thanks!"

So, now I know. and so do you! go check your settings if you want your followers to be able to comment, and spread the word! :)
p.s. Leave me any request in the comments! :)

Now What? Career Options for English Majors *Requested*

Hey everybody! This topic was requested by incredible boyfriend Reyne. What are things that you can do with an English major? Well, Reyne (and any other people who were wondering) I am glad you asked. :)
English majors have had a tendency to become actors- people like Jodi Foster and Paul Newman.

Other famous English degree holders include Stephen Speilburg and Barbra Walters.
There is really no end to the amount of things that you can do with an English major.

  •   Author-- with an English degree with an emphasis on creative writing you can be on your way to a New York Times best seller
  • Journalist-- An English degree with an emphasis on Journalism (or just a journalism degree) will allow you to write for magazines, newspapers and other emerging media.
  • Editor-- You won't be Editor-in- Chief right out of college but you can always work your way up the ladder.
  • Teach-- This is probably the most common thing people think of when they thing English major.  If you want to teach middle or high school you only have to have a B.A but if you want to teach at the college level you have to have your masters.
  • Publisher-- My personal favorite. Become a publisher. This also won't happen over night. You may have to climb up the ladder so to speak but I think it would be worth it in the end.
  • Literary Agent-- (my second favorite)Literary Agents are just like Acting Agents or talent scouts. They will pick you up if they like you and get you connected with the right people.
  • Director/Producer/Actor/Playwright-- self explanatory
  •  Communications-- Having an English major makes you an excellent candidate for a career in communications because being an English major makes you more well versed and sound intelligent. :)
Alright,
I think thats enough options... for now ;) Please comment below if you can think of anymore!! And let me know of any more requests for future blogs that you have.
What are you thinking about majoring in? (I'm English and a minor in Business and Communications)
till next time,
xoxo,
Kailey
